Science Fair is a very important part of a rigorous science curriculum. It allows students to demonstrate mastery of the Scientific Process. There is arguably no other concept more important to grasp when studying the sciences. Therefore, on this page you will find information to help you in your efforts for Science Fair.
- You will have approximately 12 weeks to complete the Science Fair Project starting with the first day of school. The calendar not only gives you the dates you will need to have each portion completed it is also a tool to help you organize your time wisely. The final accuracy grade will be given once the final project is turned in on November 7th. There are 335 points possible.
- This is a large amount of points and will greatly impact your grade for Quarters 1 & 2. Part of these points are for participation grades and corrections can be made any time up until the Nov 7th due date.
- If you have any questions please ask sooner rather than later. The School Science Fair is tentatively scheduled to be held November 20th & 21st. Below is the schedule & point break down along with a helpful powerpoint and District requirements.
- A research paper is part of the Science Fair. You will need to write it in APA style.
- If you wish to participate in the Sarasota County School's Regional Science Fair, you must complete the required poster board. If you do not, you may do the poster board or you may create the elements electronically; for example a video or powerpoint. If you choose to create an electronic science fair, you must submit it to the Google Science Fair in the Spring 2015.
